Chesapeake Encounters: Clashes of Culture, 1607-1609

I was interested in seeing if I could place locations mapped out by John Smith during his tours up the Chesapeake Bay in 1607-1608. His map, while remarkable for its time, is not of course geospatially perfect. In design I decided to combine elements of his original map with elements I drew from a mid-nineteenth-century map of the Chesapeake Bay. A debt of gratitude to the researchers who came before me to locate many of these points.
